Nortel Phones: Nortel M and T Series Sets
Business Phone Systems
The most commonly asked question from customers that still have the Norstar is whether or not we still support it. And YES, we do.
Yes, it has proven somewhat challenging in some circumstances, but we haven’t left any customers without a workable end solution.
Nortel introduced the M (Meridian Phone) sets in 1988, and replaced the M series sets in 2000 with the Business Series Terminal Sets (T series phones). Both the M and T series style of phones will work on all of the Nortel phone systems – this includes the old 3X8, 6X16, 8X24, and the newer CICS, MICS, and the BCM 200, BCM 400, and the new BCM 50. The T7316 and the M7310 and M7324 sets all have soft keys for easy navigation.
Digitcom Canada sells business phone systems from Avaya and Nortel. We sell the Avaya IP Office and Nortel Norstar, and BCM 50, BCM 200, and BCM 400 from our head office in Toronto, Ontario Canada. What is a PBX Phone System?
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange, which is a private telephone network used within a company. The users of the PBX phone system share a number of outside lines for making external phone calls.
A PBX connects the internal telephones within a business and also connects them to the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
One of the latest tendencies in PBX phone system development is the VoIP PBX, also known as IP PBX, which uses the Internet Protocol to transmit calls.
Nowadays, there are four different PBX phone system options:
PBX, Hosted/Virtual PBX, IP PBX, Hosted pbx, Virtual IP PBX
